About us
Betao is a Swedish-French tech company based in Stockholm that builds tools and services for tens of thousands of self-employed entrepreneurs in the French legal tech market.
Through our leading platform Portail Auto-Entrepreneur, we support small business owners at every stage of their journey — from starting their company to managing their daily operations, closing it down, or accessing training opportunities.
We are proud to run one of the largest French websites for entrepreneurs and the biggest online community of self-employed workers in France. Beyond our services, we regularly engage with public authorities and the media to fulfill our mission: making entrepreneurship simple and accessible.
What you will do
We are looking for a Public Affairs Assistant to join our Operations team on a 6-month fixed-term contract (70% part-time), replacing a colleague on parental leave. You will report directly to our COO and play a key role in strengthening Betao’s visibility and influence with institutional and media stakeholders.
Your responsibilities will include:
Contacting journalists and political representatives to arrange interviews, relay our positions, and organize discussions.
Writing and distributing clear, concise, and impactful press releases and press kits.
Conducting daily media and political monitoring: scanning news quickly, drafting written summaries, and spotting opportunities.
Supporting the organization of institutional and media meetings and preparing speaking materials.
Contributing to the implementation of our public affairs strategy (stakeholder mapping, legislative monitoring, parliamentary tracking).
Assisting in the organization of influence events (conferences, webinars, institutional meetings).
Collaborating with the marketing team to ensure consistency in media and public communication campaigns.
Who you are
We would like you to have:
Minimum 2 years’ experience in journalism, public affairs, embassies/diplomatic roles, or communication/public policy agencies.
Education in Political Science, Journalism, or a related field.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills: not afraid to call a journalist or reach out to a minister’s office.
The ability to summarize complex information clearly and quickly, with excellent synthesis skills.
Strong organizational skills: rigorous, autonomous, and able to manage multiple subjects at once.
A curious mindset: able to dig deep and find relevant information.
Language skills: Fluent French and intermediate English.
It’s a plus if you also have:
Knowledge of topics related to entrepreneurship.
Experience in lobbying or political influence.
Why join us?
Be part of a dynamic, international scale-up based in the heart of Stockholm.
Gain hands-on experience in media and institutional relations at the crossroads of entrepreneurship, tech, and public affairs.
Contribute to a mission-driven company making life easier for thousands of entrepreneurs.
